Über den Zusammenhang zwischen Temperatur, Aktionspotentialen und Thoraxbewegungen bei der Honigbiene (Apis mellifica L.)

Zusammenfassung

Körpertemperatur, Aktionspotentiale und Thoraxbewegungen der Honigbiene wurden gleichzeitig registriert. Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß die Wärmeproduktion in den Flugmuskeln immer von Spikeaktivität begleitet ist.

Eine meßbare mechanische Aktivität der Flugmuskeln kann bei der Wärmeproduktion fehlen. Flügelschlag- und Aktionspotentialfrequenz haben in den geschilderten Versuchen ein Verhältnis von 1∶12. Niedrige Aktionspotentialfrequenzen (unter 10 Hz) führen zu mäßiger Erwärmung der Muskeln ohne Vibrationen oder mit Vibrationsimpulsen (4 bis 20 Schwingungen pro Impuls).

Summary

Temperature, action potentials and thoracic movements of the honey bee have been recorded. It was shown, that the heat production in the wing muscles is always accompanied by spike activity.

The mechanical activity might be missing during the heating periods. The wing beat frequency and the frequency of the action potentials have a ratio of 1∶12. Low action potential frequences (under 10 c.p.s.) lead to a moderate warming of the muscles without vibrations or to impulses of vibrations (4 to 20 oscillations).
