Summary
Genetic mapping of the E. coli chromosomal region carrying the structural gene (phoA) and the regulatory gene (phoR) for alkaline phosphatase synthesis was carried out by conjugation. Recombinant colonies were selected and the segregation frequency of outside markers was determined. The genetic order lac phoA proC phoR tsx lon is proposed.
