The new government programs for Italian primary schools

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to present a brief description of the main features of the New Programs for primary schools (6–11 years) issued by the Italian Government. They represent a breaking away from tradition and offer a stimulus towards innovation and a better understanding of mathematics.
