Summary
Three different groups of mutations in bacteriophage are discussed with special reference to the coliphage T 1. One of these groups can be detected only by application of the „Zweifarb-Nährboden“. This technique, its advantages, and difficulties are described. Coloured photographs are shown of the most important genetic types of T 1 and of some heterozygotes which appear in genetic crosses.
