Zusammenfassung
Sauerstoffverbrauch und Kohlensäureabgabe von Rana temporaria zeigen eine Temperaturanpassung im Sinne einer partiellen Kompensation (Typ 3).
Die Adaptation ist reversibel und unabhängig von der erhöhten Wasseraufnahme kühl gehaltener Frösche.
Thyreoidektomie senkt den respiratorischen Stoffwechsel kaltadaptierter Tiere auf das Atmungsniveau warmgehaltener Frösche. Die Entfernung des Hypophysenvorderlappens verringert im Sommer und im Winter das Ausmaß der partiellen Atmungskompensation bedeutend.
Der Sauerstoffverbrauch des Muskelgewebes wird durch die Adaptationstemperatur nicht beeinflußt.
Der Einbau C14-markierten Glycins in die Muskulatur der Grasfrösche sinkt mit steigender Anpassungstemperatur. Bei Tieren ohne Hypophysenvorderlappen ließen sich keine Unterschiede in diesen Einbauprozessen nachweisen. Der Aminosäuregehalt der Leber lag bei warmadaptierten Fröschen höher. Diese Erscheinung dürfte durch ein unterschiedliches Hungern bedingt sein. Der Einfluß der Hormone auf Adaptationsphänomene beim Grasfrosch wird diskutiert.
