Summary
Changes in the basic protein content of Ehrlich ascites tumour cells in mice treated with 2 mg/kg Oncovin (Lilly) and 2 mg/kg Vincristine (ssVCR) (Richter), respectively were studied by Fast green Cytophotometric method during a 25-day period following treatment.
The amount of cellular basic proteins rose considerably already on the 2nd day after treatment. On the 3rd day further increase could be observed then up to the 10th day this elevated histone content was characteristic of the cells. A slight decrease was noted on the 11th, 14th, 18th and 25th days which, however, always remained considerably higher than in the control.
No difference between the effect of the two Vincristine preparations on the cellular basic protein content could be demonstrated.
