Electron microscopic studies on the lysosomal acid phosphatase in the germ layers of the rat embryo of day 8–10

Summary

Acid phosphatase (orthophosphoric monoester phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.2) has been studied electron microscopically in the rat embro between day 8 and 10 of gestation. In the visceral yolk sac epithelium phagosomes, acid phosphatase containing inclusions (lysosomes) and phago-lysosomes are increased shortly before the development of the embryo shape in the middle of day 9. The parietal entodermal cells contain ribosome-coated endoplasmatic reticulum, secretory granules and crino-lysosomes. After the development of the mesoderm lysosomes also occur in the embryonic ectoderm. At day 9 and 14 hours fetal erythroblasts and vessels are formed in the mesoderm. Cyto-lysosomes have not been found.

Zusammenfassung

Die saure Phosphatase (Orthophosphosäure Monoester Phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.2) wurde elektronenmikroskopisch im Ratten-Embryo zwischen Tag 8 und 10 der Schwangerschaft untersucht. Im visceralen Dottersackepithel treten vermehrt Phagosomen, saure Phosphatase enthaltende Einschlüsse (Lysosomen) und Phago-Lysosomen kurz vor der Ausbildung der Embryonalgestalt in der Mitte des Tages 9 auf. Die parietalen Entodermzellen enthalten Ribosomen-besetztes endoplasmatisches Retikulum, Sekretgranula und Krino-Lysosomen. Nach der Entwicklung des Mesoderm kommen auch im embryonalen Ektoderm vereinzelt Lysosomen vor. Am Tag 9 und 14 Std entwickeln sich im Mesoderm fetale Erythroblasten und Gefäße. Cyto-Lysosomen treten nicht auf.
