Polysome metabolism in protein synthesis mutants of yeast

  • Published:
Molecular and General Genetics MGG Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The size distributions of polysomes are examined in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain A364A and in temperature sensitive mutants of this strain which are defective in several aspects of protein and RNA synthesis at the restrictive temperature, 36° C. The results indicate that the nature of the molecular defect is reflected in changes in the polysome pattern at 36° C.
