The interpretation of faecal egg-counts

V. A further note on single and multiple sampling in the detection of parasitic infections

Summary

Results previously presented on multiple sampling cumulative frequency percentages for animals infected with sub-clinical F. hepatica are compared with data in Guinn (1959), when it is seen that these are similar. In both cases, a 5-sample analysis gave a cumulative frequency approaching 100% (Guinn: 97.5%; Honer: 96.5%). The implications of this are briefly discussed.
