Summary
The enzymatic degradation of DPN and TPN by homogenates and cellparticles of rat brain has been studied.
The microsomal fraction contains the highest nucleosidase activity.
Enzyme preparations of rats pretreated with Benzenehexachloride (BHC) during the anticonvulsive state split DPN and TPN faster than those of the control animals. This effect of BHC is not diminished by an letal dose of Metrazole. The relation between nucleosidase activity and the anticonvulsive action of BHC is discussed.
