Summary
-
1.
Changes in the pattern of cerebrospinal fluid and serum with regard to amino acids and keto acids brought about by the administration of α-methyldopa were indentical in patients with either Parkinson's disease or chorea. A biochemical differentiation of the two syndromes on the basis of changes produced by this compound does not appear to be possible.
-
2.
In comparing the effect of L-valine and α-methyldopa it was found that both agents alter the amino acid pattern of serum in a comparable way while affecting that of cerebrospinal fluid in different ways.
Zusammenfassung

1.
