AB0-Blutgruppenprägung an weiblichen Genitalorganen

Summary

The accumulation of false-negative results in the immunocytochemical investigation of vaginal swabs of nonsecretors was our reason for checking ABH blood-group labeling in female genitalia in situ (11 sections each from 51 different autopsies). The epithelia and endothelia showed positive staining in the blood group concerned. The epithelia of the secretors were strongly marked in the fallopian tube, vagina, urinary bladder, and urethra, whereas in the other sections the staining was irregular. The superficial layers of the vaginal epithelium of nonsecretors were not marked, which explains the poor results in the immunocytochemical investigation of vaginal swabs. Blood group A subtyping seems possible because after anti-H incubation, nearly complete labeling of the endothelia of the A₂ cases took place; this is not the case for AB cases.

Zusammenfassung

Die Häufung falsch negativer Ergebnisse bei der immunzytochemischen Untersuchung von Vaginalabstrichen bei Nonsekretoren im AB0-System war der Anlaß, die Ausprägung der AB0-Merkmale am weiblichen Genitaltrakt in situ festzustellen (je 11 Abschnitte von 51 Sektionsfällen). Epithel und Endothel waren der Blutgruppe entsprechend positiv markiert. Bei den Ausscheidern war das Epithel von Tube, Vagina, Harnblase und Harnröhre kräftig, bei den anderen Strukturen unregelmäßig stark angefärbt. Die Nichtausscheider wiesen in den oberen Schichten des Vaginalepithels keine oder nur eine geringe Markierung auf, so daß die häufig negativen Befunde an Vaginalabstrichen erklärt sind. Die A₂-Untergruppe kann wegen fast vollständiger Färbung der Endothelien nach anti-H-Inkubation von der A₁-Untergruppe unterschieden werden; dies gilt jedoch offenbar nicht für AB-Fälle.
