Summary

Lesions produced by splinters of wood in the soft tissues and bones of the limbs are not uncommon and may be difficult to diagnose. A detailed history and a high index of suspicion are the key to making the correct diagnosis. Investigations are usually inconclusive. Complete excision results in prompt resolution.

Les lésions produites par des échardes au niveau des parties molles et des os de la jambe ne sont pas exceptionnelles et peuvent être de diagnostic difficile. Un interrogatoire détaillé et un degré élevé de probabilité sont les clés du diagnostic. Les examens complémentaires n'apportent habituellement aucun argument. L'ablation complète entraîne une guérison rapide.
