Summary
Fermentations of Streptomyces flavogriseus were carried out at 30° C on media containing either Avicel, hay or acid hay hydrolysate as the principal carbon source. Under these conditions the strains produced simultaneously the enzymes of the cellulase complex as well as glucose isomerase. The enzyme activities were induced by hay, hay extract and D-xylose.
