Summary
A simple system for the aerobic microbial degradation of volatile substances without stripping losses is described. The air circulates in a closed system, which differs from others by the way in which the O2 consumed is supplemented. The system does not require any measuring or control equipment. We have used the proposed device for the degradation of diesel fuel and kerosene in soil columns.
