Summary
An interactive scheme for estimating parameters in an unstructured model of a recombinant fermentation process is presented. Sensitivity analysis is simultaneously evaluated in this approach so that the instantaneous influence of parameters on state variables can be inspected. The predicted profiles of fermentation by both the model and the sensitivity analysis based on ±50% variations of the initial concentration of glucose fit the experimental observations.
