Summary
The inheritance of the partial resistance of some tomato varieties against the Dutch races of Cladosporium fulvum was investigated.
For this purpose 17 F2's and some backcrosses from a diallel cross and F3 lines from 8 of these F2's were tested for resistance. Tests of non-allelic interactions could be made. Calculations were made of h2 (F2) in broad sense, h2 (F2) in narrow sense and h2 (F3 lines) in broad sense.
The resistance of the different varieties seems to depend on the same major gene which is very probably the gene Cf1. Besides minor genes are involved.
The value of the resistance governed by the gene Cf1 will be investigated further.
