Abstract
This paper presents a rationale for the importance of providing an interdisciplinary approach to human services. The interdisciplinary concept presented is discussed as based on two descriptive models developed by the authors. The remainder of the paper develops the interdisciplinary concept by describing examples of existing models providing services in three areas of human need; children and adolescents, cancer patients and their families, and senior citizens.
