A comparison of diploid and tetraploid turnips (Brassica campestris SSP. Rapifera)

Summary

Five lines of tetraploid turnips and their diploid progenitors were examined. Diallel crosses were made at each level of ploidy and trial results showed that in all cases the diploids outyielded their respective tetraploids for dry matter production.
