  1. Just to be clear: if one accepts Ernst Mayr’s distinction between functional and evolutionary biology, Luokkala’s discussions are more on the functional side. Luokkala does a very good job of discussing functional biology from movies such as (the several versions of) The Island of Dr. Moreau, Jurassic Park, and GATTACA.
