Zusammenfassung
Eines der wohl bekanntesten Resultate der Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie ist der zentrale Grenzwertsatz. Es geht um die Beobachtung, dass in vielen verschiedenen Modellen der Stochastik im Limes die Verteilung von Zufallsgrößen gegen die universelle Gauß-Verteilung mit Dichte \(\frac{1}{\sqrt{2 \pi}} \exp(-x^{2}/2)\) konvergiert. Lindeberg publizierte in den Jahren 1920–1922 in drei Arbeiten eine Beweismethode, die im Vergleich zu anderen Beweismethoden überraschend elementar ist. Sie kann vor allem auf tiefere analytische Werkzeuge sowie auf knifflige kombinatorische Überlegungen verzichten. In jüngster Zeit erlebt Lindebergs Ansatz eine beeindruckende Renaissance. Erweiterungen seiner Methode haben zu teilweise bahnbrechenden neuen Resultaten unter anderem in der Theorie der Zufallsmatrizen geführt. Wir stellen die Lindeberg Methode vor und geben einen Einblick in die jüngste Entwicklung.
