Summary
-
1.
It was shown that it is possible to prepare hexachlorobutadiene from 2-butyne-1,4-diol.
-
2.
The conditions for the chlorination of 1,4-dichloro-2-butyne were studied; 1,2,2,3,3,4-hexachlorobutane (II) was obtained in quantitative yield.
-
3.
It was shown that, depending on reaction conditions, the chlorination of 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorobutadiene can give either 1,1,2,3,4,4-hexachloro-2-butyne or 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4-octachlorobutane (IV).
