Abstract
The mathematical description of operation and voltage regulation of step-down and step-up double-wound power autotransformers has been considered. It has been shown that the available mathematical models of step-down and step-up double-wound autotransformers do not reflect the true physical meaning of its operation. The idling modes and operation under load of a double-wound power autotransformer have been considered, and systems of equations of its operation in up and down modes have been created. The systems of equations refine the existing mathematical models, satisfy the classical representation of physical processes of autotransformer operation, and are universal for description of the idling modes and operation under load. Vector diagrams of autotransformers have been constructed on the basis of the suggested systems of equations.
