Peculiarities of the Electromagnetic Field Distribution Inside a 1D Photonic Crystal with a Defect Layer

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

We investigated the electric field distribution inside a one-dimensional photonic crystal with a defect. The field distribution in four types of defect photonic crystals was investigated, namely the structures with and without mirror symmetry were considered. Integral localization the electromagnetic field intensity and the influence of impurity concentration on localization were investigated. The influence of the thickness of the defect layer on the maximum amplitude of the electromagnetic field intensity was investigated.
