Representations of Bremsstrahlung Spectra and the Corresponding Yields of Photonuclear Reactions

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

The most commonly used in studies of photonuclear reactions representations of the differential in photon energies but total in photon angles cross section for production of bremsstrahlung photons by electrons in radiators and spectra of these photons are compared. Using convolutions of these bremsstrahlung spectra with reaction cross sections, the yields and cross sections per equivalent quantum are compared for the characteristic model cross sections of reactions 68Zn(γ,p) (proposed for production of 67Cu in nuclear medicine) and 14N(γ,2n)12N with 14N(γ,2p)12B (proposed for detecting hidden explosives).
