Abstract

The structure of the dispersion spot in the focal area of asymmetrical mirror concentrating systems (MCSs) was analyzed. A generalized approach to the calculation of the energy characteristics of MCSs fpr technological and energy purposes, taking into account the asymmetry of the midsection and methods of production of reflective surfaces of MCS (facet) was introduced. Based on the developed approach, the energy characteristics of the Largest Solar Furnace (LSF) were analyzed and the structure of the focal spots in the LSF, as well as the contribution of each heliostat and shelf in the total concentration of BSP, were determined.
