Abstract

The adhesion characteristics of an epoxyphosphazene-modified binder based on epoxy diane resin ED-20 and diaminodiphenylsulfone curing agent are studied. It is shown that the introduction of epoxyphosphazene into the epoxy resin facilitates the growth of shear adhesive strength in steel joints. Upon the addition of 10% of epoxyphosphazene the strength of adhesive joints increases by 20% and the strength of joints with steel fibers increases by 20–80% (depending on the size of the samples); the flexural strength of the binder grows by a factor of 2, and its specific impact strength grows by a factor of 2.5–3.0. Possible reasons behind the observed changes are considered.
