Eleuthesides and their analogs: VI. Synthesis of ten-membered eleutheside carbocycle fused to methylcyclohexene

Abstract

Starting from the Diels-Alder adduct of levoglucosenone with piperylene, ten-membered eleutheside carbocycle fused to methylcyclohexene has been constructed for its subsequent use in the synthesis of sarcodictyin analog by the A ring.
