Abstract—
Using X-ray diffractometry with improved resolution of diffraction peaks, the bcc-Fe, Fe3W3C, VN, Fe3N, CrN, Fe3W3N, Fe3Mo3N, W2N, and WN phases in the surface layer, which form diffraction maxima of complex shape with close angles, have been distinguished and identified. Data on the change in the lattice parameters of these phases upon nitriding have been obtained.
