Detection and investigation of undamped temperature waves excited under water jet cavitation

Abstract

The features of the formation and propagation of undepped elastic oscillations with a frequency around 80 MHz, which are formed during the interaction of a liquid jet in the cavitation state with the target surface, are considered. It is shown that these waves correspond to undamped temperature waves, which may be excited in media with the finite heat-conductivity relaxation (finite time for attainment of local thermodynamic equilibrium).
