Kinetics and Equilibrium Sorption of Cation Cu2+ by Polyampholyte Hydrogels Based on Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide and Aliphatic Diamines

Abstract

An investigation is performed of the sorption capacity of polyampholyte hydrogels, synthesized on the basis of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide and aliphatic diamines, with regard to Cu2+ cations. Experimental data on equilibrium sorption are described using the Langmuir model. Results from kinetic studies of sorption are described by a pseudo-second order model, showing that the process is accompanied by chemical interaction.
