Abstract
Al2O3 aerogel samples were synthesized by supercritical drying in two different media: isopropanol and methyl tert-butyl ether. After sulfation in a SO2Cl2 vapor, the aerogel acquired superacid properties (–12.4 ≤ H 0 ≤–11.99) and efficiently catalyzed 1-hexene oligomerization and dimerization.
