Abstract
We propose a stabilization method for a Q-switched composite YAG/Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG laser configured for use as a laser igniter. The method is based on reducing the fluctuations in the magnitude of the initial seed signal caused by interference of the initial resonator modes. We have shown that a stable laser output could be achieved using a Fabry-Pérot etalon, which can reduce the number of modes, to reduce the initial noise fluctuation in a resonator.
