Oocephalus viscaria (Hyptidinae: Lamiaceae), a well-known new species from Central Brazil

Abstract

A new species of Oocephalus (Lamiaceae) from the Brazilian Cerrado is described and illustrated: O. viscaria, from the Distrito Federal and adjacent municipalities. Distribution, conservation assessments and comments on its morphological characters are provided. The new species is compared to O. foliosus and O. petraeus, which are morphologically similar.

Resumo

Uma nova espécie de Oocephalus (Lamiaceae) do Cerrado brasileiro é descrita e ilustrada: O. viscaria, do Distrito Federal e municípios adjacentes. Distribuição, avaliação de conservação e comentários sobre suas características morfológicas são fornecidos. A nova espécie é comparada com O. foliosus e O. petraeus, que são morfologicamente similares.
