Abstract

Polycrystalline samples of K2Mg1−x Co x (SO4)2·6H2O (x = 0, 0.4) have been prepared by the slow evaporation method at room temperature. X-ray diffraction experiments confirmed the formation of pure crystalline picromerite. The electrical properties of the anhydrous compound K2Mg1−x Co x (SO4)2 have been studied by means of complex impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range 340–420°C. The alternating current conductivity measurements exhibit features of the universal power law. Electric modulus properties of both pure and cobalt-doped picromerite have been investigated within a wide range of temperature and frequency.
