Abstract
This brief review highlights the history of the discovery of the phosphatase domain of human soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH-P). The data on its structure and physiological role are summarized. State-of-the-art methods for the evaluation of the inhibitory activity of small molecules against sEH-P are described. The structures of endogenous substrates and known inhibitors of sEH-P are considered. The prospects of the development of this area of research in medicinal chemistry are analyzed.
