Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

The search for new antifungal agents with improved chemotherapeutic properties has produced the semisynthetic polyene macrolide amphotericin B derivative amphamide, which has a number of clear advantages over the starting antibiotic. The development of a medicinal formulation of amphamide for parenteral use is described, with high water solubility, good stability of the active ingredient, and high specific activity. The prototype composition has potential for a further full-scale set of clinical trials.
