Structural and Magnetic Properties of Six-Line Ferrihydrite Nanoparticles

Abstract

Magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic nanoparticles are not as straight forward as for ferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic nanoparticles. We analyzed the data of antiferromagnetic six-line ferrihydrite nanoparticles by considering distribution in particle magnetic moment. The fit of magnetization data, using non-linear least square fit procedure, considering Langevin function with and without distribution in particle magnetic moment, is presented. Magnetization of the system is measured as function of temperature and applied magnetic field.
