Abstract
The amorphous Fe65 V 15 B 12Si8 alloy ribbon was prepared by melt spinning method, and its critical behavior has been studied in detail around the paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition point. The sample undergoes a second-order magnetic phase transition. The critical exponents have been deduced through various methods such as the modified Arrott plot, Widom’s scaling relation, and the critical isothermal analysis. Moreover, an independent analysis of the critical exponents is reported by means of the magneto-caloric effect. It is in agreement with the conclusion from the isothermal magnetization data analysis. The calculated critical exponents are consistent with the mean-field model, indicating that the long-range interactions dominate the critical behavior in this system.
