Abstract
In this paper, we have considered Kantowski–Sachs space-time in the presence of bulk viscous fluid with one dimensional cosmic strings in the second self-creation theory of gravitation proposed by Barber (Gen. Relativ. Gravit. 14:117, 1982). By solving the field equations of this theory we have obtained an exact Kantowski–Sachs bulk viscous string universe in this particular theory. A physical discussion of the cosmological model is also presented.
