Abstract
Nanoscience and nanotechnology are fast-emerging sciences that have transformed our understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological aspects of materials at the nanoscale. In a variety of fields, from materials science and electronics to health and energy, the rise of nanoscience and nanotechnology has created new opportunities for scientific research and technological innovation. This chapter covers the fundamental concepts and applications of nanoscience and nanotechnology, such as the distinctive features of nanoscale materials, the classification of nanomaterials and nanostructures, and the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials. The chapter also covers the prospective uses of nanoscience and nanotechnology in a number of disciplines, including energy, electronics, agriculture, and nanomedicine especially in drug and gene delivery, as well as its social and ethical ramifications. Overall, this chapter offers a thorough overview of the fascinating and quickly developing fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
