Abstract

In order to supplement the peak shaving capacity in the Yangtze River Delta region as soon as possible, water layer targets should be identified in this area. From the aspects of the sedimentary basin, aquifer caprock conditions, and reservoir construction potential, this chapter analyzes the aquifer reservoir construction potential of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces. The water-bearing structures in Jiangsu Province are well ascertained, and drilled well data, 3D seismic data, and other data are available for some structures. The geological conditions for gas storage construction are good, and the water-bearing structures have an appropriate burial depth and good reservoir and caprock conditions. Therefore, Jiangsu Province has a large potential of containing the resources for building aquifer gas storage facilities. Several partially water-bearing structures with wells have been well ascertained in Zhejiang Province, but their physical properties are generally poor, and there is a need to find additional favorable targets. Guangdong Province has the potential for the construction of aquifer gas storage facilities. The physical properties of the reservoirs are generally good, and the caprocks are mostly layers of sandstone alternating with mudstones. The degree of exploration in Guangxi Province is low. Most of the discovered structures are from gravity-magnetic-electric exploration results.
