Zusammenfassung

Laborwerte älterer Menschen sollten in Kenntnis der altersspezifischen Referenzwerte interpretiert werden. Die Nierenfunktion wird grundsätzlich anhand einer Formelclearance (z. B. CKDEpi) und nicht an der numerischen Größe des Serumkreatinins beurteilt. Zusätzlich werden bei der akuten Nierenschädigung und anderen Einschränkungen der Nierenfunktion Urinparameter herangezogen. Eine sinnvolle Analytik zur Ursachenklärung einer Nierenkrankheit und sekundärer Komplikationen wird vorgestellt. Grundsätzlich gilt, dass nicht die Laborwerte, sondern ältere Patienten behandelt werden.
