Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel umfasst die Diagnostik und Behandlung von Humerusfrakturen. Es wird dabei auf die Empirik, die Morphologie und die Klassifikationen von einfachen und komplexen Bruchtypen sowohl am proximalen, als auch am distalen Humerus eingegangen. Eine Osteoporose begünstigt die Frakturgefährdung des Oberarms, insbesondere am proximalen Humerus. Deshalb werden die Grundlagen der konservativen und operativen Behandlung auch unter Berücksichtigung patientenimmanenter und biologischer Faktoren beleuchtet. Die gängigen Rekonstruktionsverfahren (Platten-/Nagelosteosynthese) und endoprothetische Verfahren sind Gegenstand des Kapitels. Am proximalen Humerus wird dabei die Bedeutung der inversen Frakturprothetik hervorgehoben. Für jede Region des Humerus wird die entsprechende Nachbehandlung nach operativer Versorgung erklärt.
