Zusammenfassung

Einige Personen, die traumatische Erfahrungen erleben, entwickeln ein klinisches Bild, das über die PTBS hinausgeht. Die komplexe PTBS ist über die PTBS-Kernsymptomatik hinaus durch schwerwiegende Affektregulationsbeeinträchtigungen, Veränderungen der Einstellungen zu anderen Menschen und zu sich selbst gekennzeichnet. Typischerweise wird die komplexe posttraumatische Belastungsstörung durch länger anhaltende traumatische Erlebnisse, die aus mehreren oder sich wiederholenden traumatischen Ereignissen besteht, hervorgerufen. Das ICD-11 führt zusätzlich aus, dass dies in der Regel Ereignisse sind, aus denen ein Entkommen schwierig oder gar unmöglich ist (z. B. Folter, Sklaverei, Genozid-Kampagnen, fortgesetzte häusliche Gewalt, wiederholter sexueller oder physischer Missbrauch in der Kindheit).
