Zusammenfassung
Komplementäre Krebstherapien sind heute fixer Bestandteil eines integrativen Behandlungsansatzes. Wenn auch der wissenschaftliche Beweis der Tumorwirksamkeit noch nicht ausreichend geführt wurde, so können unter sorgfältiger und verantwortlicher Handhabung und unter Wahrung der onkologisch-klinischen Therapie die Lebensqualität der Patienten gehoben, Begleittherapien reduziert, Nebenwirkungen der Chemo- und Strahlentherapie verringert und die Rehabilitation gefördert werden. Die Verabreichung von komplementären Therapien bei Krebserkrankungen sollte mit den betreuenden Onkologen abgesprochen werden. Da es zwischen komplementären Therapien Interaktionen und Kontraindikation mit anderen Chemotherapien oder monoklonalen Antikörpern und modernen Immuntherapien geben kann, die Dosierung eine entscheidende Bedeutung bezüglich der Wirksamkeit hat und laufend neue wissenschaftliche Arbeiten publiziert werden, ist der aktuelle Wissenstand Voraussetzung für erfolgreiches Handeln.
