Zusammenfassung

Unter dem Oberbegriff der Physiotherapie werden aktive, assistive und passive Maßnahmen zusammengefasst, deren wesentliche Zielsetzungen in der Schmerzreduktion, Wiederherstellung bzw. Erhaltung der Gelenkbeweglichkeit, der Funktionsverbesserung sowie der Optimierung der gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität des Patienten liegen. Während bei akuten Schmerzzuständen insbesondere passive Therapieformen aus dem Kanon der physiotherapeutischen Behandlungsmodalitäten sowie der physikalischen Therapie Anwendung finden, liegt der primäre Fokus bei chronischen Erkrankungen auf den aktiven und eigenverantwortlich durchführbaren Interventionen der Sport- und Bewegungstherapie.
