Sporttherapie in der pädiatrischen Rheumatologie

Zusammenfassung

Bewegung und Sport gehören essenziell zur Therapie rheumatischer Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter. Körperlich-sportliche Aktivität steigert nicht nur die Lebensqualität, emotionale Befindlichkeit und motorische Leistungsfähigkeit junger Rheumatiker, sondern beeinflusst positiv und gezielt Krankheitsaktivität und Alltagsfunktion. Allgemein gültige Bewegungsempfehlungen lassen sich für die pädiatrische Rheumatologie adaptieren. Zur Reduktion von bestehenden Ängsten, zur Förderung einer sicheren Teilnahme am Sport sowie zur Verbesserung der Adhärenz empfiehlt sich eine interdisziplinäre Sport- und Bewegungsberatung. Da ein langfristig bewegungsreicher Alltag die Krankheitsprognose verbessern und das Risiko von Begleiterkrankungen (Adipositas, Diabetes mellitus, psychische Störungen) reduzieren kann, bedarf es auch zukünftig der grundlegenden Multiplikation und Streuung von positiv aufklärenden Informationen und Empfehlungen zum Thema „Rheuma und Sport“.
