Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werde ich die gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Entwicklungen sowie den Zeitgeist seit dem Ende des 18. Jh. bis heute skizzieren und kritisch beleuchten. Die Entwicklungen werde ich entlang der Paradigmen wirksamer Beratung (Savickas, 2015, 2019a) im Kontext der Beratungspsychologie betrachten. Savickas (2012b, 2015) spricht von drei „Tanzbühnen“, auf denen wir uns in der (Laufbahn-) Beratung seit Ende des 19. Jh. bewegen. Er unterscheidet zwischen dem Paradigma der Passung (vocational guidance), dem des lebenslangen Lernens (career education) und dem des Life Designs (life design) und berücksichtigt dabei nicht nur die Beratungspsychologie, sondern auch verschiedene erkenntnistheoretische Perspektiven sowie die Entwicklung der Arbeitswelt während der letzten 150 Jahre. Nach der Darstellung der drei Paradigmen werde ich Sie zu einer Selbstreflexion einladen. Danach werde ich eine kritische Perspektive auf aktuelle gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen einnehmen und dabei Fragen aufwerfen, die in Beratung und Coaching und unter Einbezug der (narrativen) Psychologie adressiert werden können.

Die durch das BGE geschaffene finanzielle Sicherheit knüpft am Sicherheitsmotiv an, weil sie es möglich macht, dass Arbeitnehmende sich in „vertrauter und sicherheitsspendender Umgebung“ orientieren können.

Dazu ist zu sagen, dass sich auch die Wissenschaft nicht nur auf der Ebene der Fakten abspielt. Forscher*innen entscheiden sich für bestimmte Fragestellungen, die sie bearbeiten. In der Wahl des Fachbereichs sowie der Fragestellung manifestiert sich ein persönliches Interesse und oft auch eine persönliche Betroffenheit (subjektive Ziele). Zudem bringen auch die Forscher*innen ihr soziales Narrativ bewusst oder unbewusst in ihre Forschungstätigkeit mit ein. Zu diesem sozialen Narrativ gehört auch die Frage, wie die Welt aus ihrer Sicht „funktioniert“ sowie die dahinterliegende Welthypothese.
