Zusammenfassung
Die zurückliegende Dekade hat eindrucksvoll gezeigt, mit welcher disruptiven Gewalt die digitale Transformation Geschäftsmodelle etablierter Unternehmen in zahlreichen Industrien und Wirtschaftszweigen gewandelt hat und wie es ideenreichen Entrepreneuren durch neuartige Geschäftsmodelle gelungen ist, sich erfolgreich am Markt zu etablieren. Trotz der zunehmenden Bedeutung von digitalen, datenbasierten und plattformbasierten Geschäftsmodellen sind ihre konzeptuellen Grundlagen und spezifischen Charakteristika bislang nur unzureichend erforscht und systematisiert. Dieser Grundlagenbeitrag unternimmt den Versuch, konzeptionelle Klarheit zwischen diesen Begrifflichkeiten herzustellen, konstituierende Merkmale der drei Arten von Geschäftsmodellen herauszuarbeiten und diese in ein geschäftsmodellorientiertes Rahmenwerk zu überführen. Die Anwendbarkeit und Nützlichkeit des entwickelten konzeptionellen Rahmenwerks werden anhand unterschiedlicher Praxisbeispielen verdeutlicht.
